About

Have you ever indulged in music to the extent of rising high above the hectic life and soaring over the city with you wings stretched wide, leaving all the hustle and bustle behind? Have you ever been one with the music? Or, perhaps, have you tried to outrun it?

Soaring high above the turmoil of daily life, the Accordion Music Week Festival welcomes everyone to unforgettable adventures! We promise that you will be mesmerized by music you cannot escape from!

We strive to continue the tradition of surprising our audience with beautiful and colorful palette of music at the most unexpected venues all over the city. This year, the runway to the takeoff of the festival will be the Lithuanian Zoo in Kaunas. You will find three stages with different performers and a program suited for the entire family, prepared for your entertainment and inviting you to go on a wondrous musical adventure. We are immensely proud to introduce Iñaki Alberdi and Carlos Mena who will perform in the Church of St. Catherine at the beginning of the week. These two grand musicians representing the classical style will soar up and above the Renaissance in perfect synthesis of the accordion and countertenor. This dreamy flight will be followed by the performance of the four harmonica virtuosos known as the lyrical gangsters of Sväng who will perform at the Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot. Have you ever imagined a concert in the night bazaar? Bach in Bazaar is a concert by Pietro Roffi and Kristina Kuzminskaitė, who will create an unforgettable dialogue of the accordion and organ on the topic of J. S. Bach, known far and wide as the coryphaeus of Baroque. The end of the summer as marked on the calendar will fall at the very peak of the Accordion Music Week. We will commemorate this day at the Vilnius Railway Station, in The Last Summer Train concert by Franz Albers und Kapt'n Kruze – a duet of charming and unpredictable young ladies singing sea shanties. And if you are one of those who believe there can never be too much love in the world, do not miss the Unsent Love Letters concert at the Vilnius Central Post Office, where Evelina Sašenko and Nerijus Bakula will weave their songs of love. Sometimes we have a song or a piece of music stuck in our heads as if put on repeat. My Inner Disco is a concert where I and the SinChronic quartet, my loyal partners on stage, will reveal what takes us up on cloud number nine. The week of music will be crowned by the traditional Accordion Marathon. For some of you, it will be a nostalgic reflection of sweet youth, while for some this performance will mark the very first flight on the big stage.

This is what the music you cannot run away from is going to tell you this year. The credit for the cover of our festival agenda goes to Algis Kriščiūnas, the mind and soul behind the visual idea of the music taking flight, who thoroughly visualized our credo and inspired us to go on this adventure.

Do you have what it takes to spread your wings and fly with us?
